Based in Colorado, We are an award-winning writer and photographer who have lived in Europe and traveled in more than 100 countries. We produce a public radio program, Booktalk, at KGNU in Boulder for which we have interviewed (sometimes on the high seas) hundreds of authors from politicians and astronauts to novelists and adventurers of all sorts. Booktalk is also available on PRX, a premier public radio site, at http://www.prx.org/series/32991-booktalk
We have been food and travel columnists for an international newspaper syndicate, World’s Fare, at Tribune Media and before that wrote regularly for the Los Angeles Times International Syndicate. Our features and nearly a thousand travel photos of locations in all continents and around the South Pacific have been published in newspapers, magazines, the internet, and broadcast in programs on public radio.
On assignment we’ve sailed to Antarctica on an expedition ship, landed in floatplanes in the South Pacific, and ballooned over the American Southwest. In other parts of the world, we’ve respectfully wandered in the temples of Burma, explored Roman ruins in Libya and Tunisia, slowly traveled the Thames much the same way Henry VIII did 400 years ago, and rode the rails to South America’s Machu Picchu.
